“The Bottled City” with The Arts House (2021)
For this collaboration with The Arts House, I was tasked to create illustrations for the theme "The Bottled City" for "Textures 2021", an event to raise awareness of Singapore literary works.
Illustrations based on a book with local authors titled: “In This Desert, There Were Seeds”
Made into a physical sticker sheet to promote the event
Sticker sheet information:
Size: 7.2cm x 10.2cm, each sticker ranging from 1cm - 3cm max
Stickers cut by myself with a cutting machine (Silhouette Cameo) to ensure quality
A total of 205 stickers produced for this event
“Bottled City” is one of the illustrations I’m really proud of in this whole series.
Based on the event title - “The Bottled City” (City in a glass bottle)
Promoting Singapore literature = colourful books + HDB buildings for the “book cover”
First time illustrating an isometric perspective piece
From “Light streaming through windows” to “Calendar”
Decided that this illustration would be too complex and with the stickers being tiny, it would be difficult to see the details
Changed it to just the traditional Chinese calendar with more details to make it pop
Date shown on calendar is the date of the event
